What Sets the Berkeley Haas Executive MBA Apart

Schedule: Lasting 22 months, the Haas EMBA academic program takes place one weekend per month, Thursday through Saturday, on the Berkeley campus, starting in July.

Curriculum: The EMBA curriculum is rooted in four principles: leadership, entrepreneurship, strategy, and finance. It encompasses 19 units of core courses, 22 combined units of elective coursework, and immersion modules. Among the anchor electives are corporate finance, game theory, mergers and acquisitions, negotiation, global strategy and turnarounds. Students can also take electives in the Global Network for Advanced Management.

Immersion Modules: Immersions last 5-7 days and take place in places around the country—Silicon Valley and Washington, among others. Topics include leadership communication, entrepreneurship and innovation, applied innovation, and business and public policy.

Defining Leadership Principles: The culture of the Berkeley Haas EMBA is governed by the Berkeley Haas Defining Leadership Principles, which percolate through the programming and curriculum: question the status quo, confidence without attitude, student always, beyond yourself, put the best people in your corner, foster strong bonds through residency, be part of an active business community, go beyond the classroom to expand your network, and infuse your thinking with diverse perspectives.

Alumni Network: Haas EMBA graduates join a network of 41,000 Haas alumni. They go to school with business leaders from Intel, Google, Microsoft, Amazon and some 60 other companies.

2025 Haas EMBA Class Profile

The Berkeley Haas EMBA class of 2025 is made up of 75 students. Of these students, 53% were born outside of the U.S., 37% identify as women, and 9% identify as underrepresented minorities.

Class of 2025 Haas EMBA students had an average of 16 years of work experience and an average age of 40.

These 75 Haas EMBA students represent 71 different companies, the top industries being software (15%), health services (11%), and hardware (7%).

In terms of residence, 49% of students come from the San Francisco Bay Area and 51% come from outside the area.
