I chose to work with Scott after seeing him present at an admissions event. I liked his straightforward style (he does not sugarcoat) and that he had a good answer for the question “Why should I go with you rather than someone who has worked in admissions?” (to which he responded he had the most up-to-date information, which not all former adcoms have, and he is well-connected to current adcoms). After working with him for a few months, I decided extremely last minute to apply to schools during the Covid round. He was always willing to hop on a last-minute phone call and returned edits within a 48-hour time window, which was crucial because I was on such a time crunch.
